But Campbell, 26, returned to London Colney on Monday after an extended holiday due to his World Cup participation.
Video footage has emerged today of the moment Granit Xhaka, Nacho Monreal and the Costa Rican all returned from their break.
It was uploaded to Arsenal’s YouTube channel, where it has already racked up more than 250,000 hits.
“He deserves a chance”
But fans are not happy with Unai Emery after spotting Campbell’s body language.
The Gunners forward, who will wear the No.35 shirt this season, could be seen training alone during the session, with a rather glum expression.
One questioned: “I feel sorry for Campbell, he looks very lonely. Why not give him a chance to improve his ability and skills?”
“Can’t Emery give Campbell a chance on the wings? He’s been here for so long, give the man a shot,” another added.
And a third claimed: “Unai Emery needs to either start Campbell or sell him, it’s not fair.”
The 26-year-old joined Arsenal in 2011 and has been loaned out six times since then.
He only has a year left on his contract and his boss now has a decision to make on his future.
