American Horror Story: Apocalypse has been sending us back to the prime of AHS life and we’re absolutely loving it.
But there’s one major queen missing from the show’s repeated cast and it’s noticeable – Angela Bassett.
And now it’s been revealed that it wasn’t even a case of her unable to fit the show into her schedule – she wasn’t even invited.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about Coven’s Marie LeVeau not being on this year’s series, Angela made no secret that she was a little bit bummed about it.
She told them: ‘I have it on my DVR, but I haven’t seen any of it just yet. But I mean, come on. Where’s Marie Laveau?
‘I’m even a little bit in my feelings that Marie didn’t come back.’
Angela has had several leading roles in the anthology series – including voodoo queen Marie in Coven, a triple-breasted Desiree in Freak Show, and Blaxploitation star Ramona Royale in Hotel.
However, she confirmed to US Weekly in the August that she wasn’t going to be part of Apocalypse.
Speaking to US Weekly, the Mission Impossible: Fallout star added: ‘[Marie is] very special to my heart. We got to shoot in New Orleans which is beautiful, that beautiful decay of a city.
‘It was scary; it was funny; it was risqué; it was intriguing; it was historical.’
Bassett went on to praise her former castmates, some of whom are set to reprise their roles in Apocalypse.
‘You get to work with the great Kathy Bates and Jessica Lange and Sarah [Paulson], Gabby [Sidibe], just on and on and on.
‘It was really special, and it was the beginning of it all, beginning of me joining a family.’
American Horror Story: Apocalypse continues Wednesdays in the US.
