…says players will miss Mikel, but…
Former Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Joseph Dosu, has charged the Super Eagles to go all out for the six points in the two ties taking place within four days.
The Nigeria/Libya back-to-back 2018 Nations Cup qualifiers take place on October 13 in Uyo and October 16 in Tunisia respectively.
Dosu said winning the two encounters was paramount and would be good enough for Eagles which would put the team in a better position for qualification for the competition
“Anything less than six points will put our qualification in jeopardy. We don’t know what the results of other countries will be. All we need to do is mind our own business by winning those two games,”
“If we can do that, I think our qualification will be safe no matter what other countries do. Let’s win our game and forget what is happening in other countries,” he told NewTelegraph.
The ex-goalkeeper said that Eagles would definitely miss skipper Mikel Obi because of his unique leadership style and the motivational lecture he gives the players from time to time in and outside the field
Dosu said: “Mikel is a motivator and the captain of the team. He is not in the team now because of injuries but I believe that those that will play on Saturday against Libya will want to win the game and not just winning the games for Nigeria but also for Mikel. I expect them to display their professionalism.
“And to those that have been called, they have been doing well so far even without Mikel and this has shown how good and talented they are. Though Mikel’s presence would have been good as motivation but since he is not there, the players will also do well to make the difference.”
