Gary Lineker has named Leeds United winger Jack Clarke alongside the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jadon Sancho as a future England star.
The teenager has long been touted as one of the academy’s brightest talents at Thorp Arch and finally made his senior breakthrough this season.
Lineker, the face of Match of the Day and a Three Lions legend in his own right, first lauded Clarke after his starring role in the January win over Derby County.
That match, broadcast to a Friday night audience on national television, announced Clarke to the nation and he has been closely watched since.
Lineker consistently champions his home nation’s talents on Twitter and after tonight’s 5-1 demolition of Macedonia he took to the social network once again.
Listing the current and future footballers who make England’s future so bright on the pitch, Lineker included Clarke alongside Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford among others.
England are good. Will be better. Some have been around for a while…Sterling, Kane, Stones, Maguire, Walker, Trippier, Rashford….then there’s Alexander-Arnold, Foden, Hudson-Odoi, Gomez, Sancho, Rice, Nelson, Longstaff, Gibbs-White, Clarke, Chilwell, Greenwood. I could go on

The 18-year-old made his comeback with the Whites first team nine days ago after a five-week lay-off following his collapse and virus at Middlesbrough.
